पीएसटीपीपी स्वास्थ्य केंद्र पुराने पीटीपीएस हॉस्पिटल का नाम है। पतरातू (थर्मल) के नाम से जाना जाने वाला यह छोटा सा शहर बदलाव के दौर से गुजर रहा है। एक बार जब एनटीपीसी द्वारा प्रबंधित नए पावर प्लांट चालू हो जाएंगे तो ऐसे कई बदलाव दिखाई देंगे।

PSTPP Health Centre is the name of the old PTPS Hospital. The small town known as Patratu (Thermal) is going through a transformation. Once the NTPC managed new power plants will be functional, a lot of many such changes will be visible.

Boating Facilities and Migratory birds transform Patratu Dam into tourists’ hotspot

Every year, a spectacle of various migratory bird species capture the attention of visitors, offering a thrilling experience to all who come for leisure activities and boating at this iconic tourist destination in Patratu. State Forest Department officials have confirmed the arrival of numerous migratory bird species, attracting a significant influx of tourists. In the last winter, the Patratu Dam had the hundreds of winged visitors from Siberia.

Boatmen at the Patratu Lake Resort are happy by offering rides to visitors amid the avian flocks. Above 100 boats are operated by the Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation (JTDC). A total of 680 migratory birds, comprising rare and endangered species, had arrived last winter. Some of the species included common coot, red-headed pochard, bar-headed goose among others.

मेरी हिंदी टीचर! ‍☘️

जब हम अपने आप में खो जाते हैं तो हम भीड़ से अलग हो जाते हैं, वहीं दूसरी ओर अगर हम लोगों के साथ समय बिताते हैं तो हम बहुतों की आदत बन जाते हैं और ये लोग हमें अपने साथ रखना पसंद करते हैं, इसे एक गैंग कहा जाता है। अपने गैंग को फॉलो करके मैंने एक हिंदी क्लास ज्वाइन की, हालाँकि मुझे हिंदी बिल्कुल भी पसंद नहीं थी।

टीचर हर दूसरे दिन टास्क न करने पर मुझसे नाराज हो जाती थी और घर पर शिकायत करती थी। एक दिन उसने मेरी काउंसलिंग की और पूछा कि प्रॉब्लम क्या है? आपका ध्यान पढ़ाई पर क्यों नहीं है? तुरंत, मैंने उत्तर दिया, मुझे नहीं लगता कि यह मेरे किसी काम का है! मुझे इसमें बिल्कुल भी दिलचस्पी नहीं है! टीचर ने धीरे से कहा, जब आप इसे महसूस करना शुरू करेंगे तो आपकी रुचि इसमें दिखाई देगी और आप इसे अपनी भावनाओं से जोड़ने का प्रयास करेंगे। तब आप अपने आप को हिंदी में बेहतर तरीके से व्यक्त कर पाएंगे। खैर, मैं हिंदी के बजाय उनके पढ़ाने के तरीके से ज्यादा प्रभावित था। धीरे-धीरे मैंने उनके व्यवहार की नकल करना शुरू कर दिया था। इससे मेरे व्यवहार में सहजता आ गई और मेरे मित्रों की संख्या बहुत ही कम समय में ज्यादा हो गए।

जैसा कि जीवन में पाया जाता है, कुछ लोगों को परिवार से विरासत के रूप में प्यार मिलता है और कुछ को इसे कड़ी मेहनत से अर्जित करना पड़ता है। मुझे याद है, हमारी हिंदी टीचर शायद हमें वही पढ़ा रही थी। इस तरह उसने अपने काम में खुद को इस तरह समर्पित कर दिया जैसे कि वह अपने परिवार की सेवा कर रही हो और हम उसके परिवार का हिस्सा बन गए।

My Hindi Teacher! 🧑‍🏫 Sudesh

When we are lost in ourselves then we become different from the crowd, on the other hand, if we spend time with people then we become a habit of so many and these people love to keep us with them, it is called a gang. By following my gang, I joined a Hindi class, although I did not like Hindi at all.

The teacher used to get angry with me every second day for not doing the task and used to complain at home. One day, she took my counselling and asked what is the problem? Why your attention is not focused on studies? Instantly, I replied, I don't think this is of any use to me! I have no interest in it at all! The teacher said softly, your interest will be shown up to it when you start to feel it, and you will try to connect it with your emotions. Then you will be able to express yourself better in Hindi. Well, I was more influenced by her way of teaching it rather than Hindi. Gradually, I had started imitating her behaviour and it fetched smoothness in my behaviour then the no. of my friends grew up rapidly in a very short time.

As discovered in life, some people get love as an inheritance from the family and some have to earn it through hard work. I remember, our Hindi teacher was probably teaching us the same. In this way, she devoted herself to her work as if she was serving her family and we became a part of her family.

Jackfruit: The Superfood for Summer ☘️

The Summer is incomplete without the aroma and taste of Mangoes and Jackfruits. Both come in the same colour and are very sweet, which lures birds, animals and humans alike. But, due to rapid urbanisation and growth in our supply chain system, the traditional technique of 'chopping Jackfruit after placing it on old newspapers' has become just a part of the nostalgia for most of us. Well, those golden memories filled with trees and plants can now be absorbed in eco-living, where trees, animals and humans are meant to co-exist together.

Being a plant-based lifestyle advocate, my advice for everyone is to preserve nature's made simplicity in their everyday life. I feel like it's part of cultural inheritance. And, I have grown up with it right from my childhood days in Patratu, we had 2 Jackfruits Trees in the backyard. Every summer, my parents used to gift the big size Jackfruits to their friends and neighbours, many of them used to visit us from miles away to collect it.

How to eat Jackfruit?

As with any fruit, Jackfruit is best enjoyed fresh while it is sweet and juicy. It may be added to smoothies or even chopped and sprinkled over ice cream. Unripe Jackfruit is great in savoury preparations such as Jackfruit Dry Masala, the most popular across India or Carnitas in Mexican Cuisine.

Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL)

The old Patratu Thermal Power Station (PTPS) plant was given to the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) by the government in 2015 under a joint venture. After which the new company Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) was formed. For the last few years, a new power plant is being built there by improving the old plant which was of 840 MW.

The Joint Venture Company is formed to install 4000 MW coal based thermal power plant consisting of 5 units of 800 MW each which is to be implemented in two phases (Phase I: 3 x 800 MW and Phase II: 2 x 800 MW). Presently, the PVUNL is working on the Phase-I (3 x 800 MW) of Capacity addition.

When electricity starts to generate from Patratu, then the dependence of Jharkhand State on the central sector will be reduced. Under the existing power purchase agreement, the electricity taken from the central sector costs five and a half to six rupees per unit, while the electricity from Patratu will be available only at ₹3.25, which will be much cheaper.

85% of 4000MW power from the project will be allocated to State of Jharkhand. Banhardih captive coal block has been allocated to PVUN for end use. Banhardih Coal Mine has a Reserve of about 956 MT with total area of 18 sq KM.

पतरातू विद्युत उत्पादन कंपनी (PVUNL)

पुराने पतरातू थर्मल पावर स्टेशन (PTPS) प्लांट को ज्वाइंट वेंचर के तहत सरकार ने 2015 में नेशनल थर्मल पावर कारपोरेशन (NTPC) को दे दिया था। जिसके बाद नए करार के अनुसार नयी कंपनी पतरातू विद्युत उत्पादन निगम लिमिटेड (PVUNL) बना।

अभी पिछले कुछ सालों से पुराने प्लांट जो कि 840 मेगावाट का था, उसको बेहतर करके नया पावर प्लांट वहां बनाया जा रहा है। यह पूरा प्लांट 4000 मेगावाट का होगा। तीन फेज में इसका काम पूरा होना है। पहला फेज का काम 2022-23 में पूरा होगा जिसमें कुल 2400 मेगावाट बिजली का उत्पादन होगा। अगर पतरातू से बिजली मिलने लगे तो बिजली क्षेत्र में झारखंड राज्य की सेंट्रल सेक्टर पर निर्भरता कम होगी। सेंट्रल सेक्टर से ली जाने वाली बिजली पावर परचेज एग्रीमेंट के तहत साढे पांच से छह रूपया प्रति यूनिट पड़ता है जबकि पतरातू से बिजली 3.25 रूपया में ही मिलेगा, जो की काफी सस्ता होगा।

परियोजना से प्राप्त 4000 मेगावाट बिजली का 85% झारखंड राज्य को आवंटित किया जाएगा। PVUNL को बनहरडीह माइंस आवंटित किया गया है। बनहरडीह माइंस में 18 वर्ग किलोमीटर के कुल क्षेत्रफल के साथ लगभग 956 मीट्रिक टन का कोयला भंडार है।

जब रास्ता ही इतना खूबसूरत हो, तो सोचिए शहर कितना सुंदर होगा हमारा 'पतरातू'!

वैसे तो हर किसी के कहानी में पतरातू के अपने-अपने किस्से हैं. बाहर से आने वाले किसी परिवार के लिए सालाना पिकनिक का स्पॉट है, तो किन्हीं पुराने यारों का रीयूनियन का अड्डा, कितने ही प्रेमी-प्रेमिका के डेटिंग लोकेशन है तो कुछ लोगों के डेस्टिनेशन वेडिंग की जगह. और तो और साल के अंत तक प्रवासी पक्षियों का भी ठिकाना है हमारा पतरातू. मगर इस जगह की असल कहानी वहां पले बढ़े हर लोग की जीवन का ना सिर्फ किस्सा है बल्कि अभिन्न हिस्सा है.

कहने का तात्पर्य यह है कि हमारा पतरातू सिर्फ घाटी और डैम तक ही नहीं सीमित है, बल्कि यह जगह ऐसे लोगों का गढ़ है जिनके जीवन की कहानियों में घाटी से ज्यादा उतार चढाव और डैम से ज्यादा गहराई है. उन लोगों की जीवन के कहानियों का समूह है जो 4 बराबर चिमनी देख के बड़े हुए हैं, जिनको आज अचानक से इतना बड़ा चिमनी देख कर अजीब लगता है.

अगर वाकई में देखा जाए तो हमारा शहर काफी छोटा है, रेलवे फाटक से शुरू होकर पतरातू घाटी तक खत्म हो जाता है, मोटरसाइकिल वाले 25 मिनट और निब्बा लोग केटीएम लेकर 10 मिनट में शहर को रौंद देते हैं. लेकिन ठीक से एंट्री मार दिए तो पूरा दिन निकल जाएगा आप शहर से निकल नहीं पाइएगा, कब 17 नंबर रोड खत्म होकर 34 में घुस जाइएगा और कब रसदा से लबगा चल जाइएगा समझना मुश्किल हो जाता है.

सड़कें उतनी मजबूत तो नहीं है पर दशकों से पतरातू के लोगों के इरादे जरूर मजबूत हैं. हमारे यहां दिल्ली और कोटा जैसी कॉचिंग तो नहीं होती फिर भी यहां कितने स्टूडेंटस आईआईटी कर जाते हैं. भारत के किसी कोने में चल जाइए हमारे यहां के लोग झंडा गाड़े मिल जाएंगे. एमएनसी, बैंक, एसएससी, डिफेंस, विधि, पुलिस, पत्रकारिता और ना जाने कितने सारे क्षेत्रों में पतरातू का नाम बुलंद किए युवक और युवतियां दूसरे शहरों में अपना जीवन यापन कर रहे हैं.

खेलकूद की बात करें तो क्रिकेट, वॉलीबॉल, फुटबाल, बैडमिंटन, एथलेटिक्स, कराटे और अन्य कई खेलों के ना जाने इस क्षेत्र के कितने धुरंधर निकले जिन्होंने राज्य और देश स्तर के मुकाबलों में नाम रौशन किया. हालांकि पहले भी संसाधनों की कमी थी और आज भी वही स्थिति बदस्तूर जारी है. पर कमी ने कभी राह नहीं रोका. आज भी पतरातू के खिलाड़ियों का नाम ही काफी है. पतरातू की क्रिकेट टीम में पंचमंदिर के बल्लेबाज होते है तो मस्जिद कॉलोनी के गेंदबाज. शाह कॉलोनी वाले कीपींग तो हनुमान गढ़ी वाले ऑलराउंडर बने कमान संभालते है. बात बाकी ग्रामीण इलाकों के खाटी खिलाड़ी हमेशा विशेष छाप छोड़ जाते हैं.

हमारे यहां बिग बाज़ार या रिलायंस जैसे शॉपिंग मौल भी नहीं है. हम चुन्नी लाल, लखन सेठ, बजरंग स्टोर या धनु के जैसे पारिवारिक दुकानदारों के यहां से राशन ले आते हैं, जहां आज नकद कल उधार अभी भी स्लोगन है. कपड़े के लिए केदार और सरदार हैं हीं. कुशवाहा से केक मिल जाता है और मिस्ठान भंडार से मिठाई इसलिए बाल बुत्रू सबका जन्मदिन मनाने में भी दिक्कत नहीं होता. पन्ना लाल का चाट, भरत और दिलखुश के गुपचुप, लिलू का चाउमिन, बुक स्टोर के समोसे और चन्द्रकला हमारे यहां के मुख्य व्यंजन है, समझ लीजिए यही हमारे यहां के डोमिनोज है. आजकल मोमोज भी मिलने लगा है. हां भाई छोटा शहर अब बड़ा भी तो होने लगा है. डैम किनारे अब तो फैंसी रेस्टोरेंट भी खुल गया है.

हर शहर की संस्कृति उसकी पहचान होती है. हमारे पतरातू की यूएसपी भाईचारगी में है. कोलोनी सेट अप होने के कारण हमेशा से हर वर्ग और समाज के लोग ऐसे घुले मिले रहे की कभी ध्रुवीकरण नहीं हुआ. हर सुख-दुख में एक दूसरे का साथ देते लोग सर्व धर्म समभाव को मूलमंत्र मानते है. हर पूजा की पवित्रता भी होती है, क्रिसमस का उल्लास भी, ईद में जश्न मनता है तो गुरुनानक जयंती पर सब मिल बांट लंगर खाते हैं.

कमोबेश यही बात है कि हिंदुस्तान के इस छोटे अंश पतरातू में भारत का बड़ा प्रारूप दिखता है, जहां शहर का फ्लेवर भी है और गांव का जायका. इसीलिए तो कहता हूं कि जब रास्ता ही इतना खूबसूरत हो, तो सोचिए शहर कितना सुंदर होगा हमारा 'पतरातू'.

बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत इनके मतलब को समझने में बरसों लगे मगर आज भी अपूर्ण हैं। सबने अलग-अलग स्थितियों में इसे देखा होगा मगर एक पूरा समाज जो पतरातू में बसता था सबने कमोबेश एक ही दुर्गा पूजा को देखा है जो लगभग महीने भर पहले से शुरू हो जाती थी और रोमांच पे रहा करती थी।

श्रमकल्याण, पंचमन्दिर, हनुमानगढ़ी, शाहकॉलोनी, न्यूमार्केट, जनतानगर ये 6 गढ़ होते थे। बारिश के बाद पूरे पतरातू में हरियाली बिखरी होती थी और मंडप में मूर्तिकार आहिस्ता-आहिस्ता सूखी लकड़ी के फ्रेम पर पुआल बाँधना शुरू कर देते थे फिर कई परतों में मिट्टी चढ़ाई जाती थी। बालमंडली में कौतूहल के साथ चर्चा का विषय रहता था कि आज मूर्ति में क्या बन गया है?

पूजा मंडप में लकड़ियों की ठक-ठक को सुनने और देखने के लिए कई बार खिड़कियों पर चढ़ जाया करते थे तो कई बार बड़े भाई अंदर ले जाकर दिखा दिया करते थे। हर गतिविधि का मुआयना करते थे और बाहर दोस्तों में चर्चा करते थे।

स्कूल की छुट्टी लगभग 6 से 8 दिन पहले हो जाया करती थी और कपड़े खरीदने के लिए न्यू-मार्केट जाने के रट में शाम गुजरने लगती थी। खरीददारी में आज के ऑनलाइन जमाने मे वो आनंद नहीं है जो उस समय मे हुआ करता था अब हर महीने खरीद लिया जाता है। तब स्कूल ड्रेस को छोड़कर नए फैंसी कपड़े दशहरा और होली के अलावे शायद किसी शादी-ब्याह में ही नसीब हुआ करते थे।

बहरहाल कपड़ों से बाहर आते हैं, घर-घर जा कर चंदा कलेक्शन का दौर था उत्साह पूरे चरम पर हुआ करता था। इंतजार रहता था कि कब ढाकी आएगा और नाच-नाच कर ढोल बजायेगा? पूजा पंडाल के सामने कुछ दुकान लगा करती थीं जिससे हर साल दो चीजें ख़रीदी जाती थीं एक 8 से 10 रुपए वाली पिस्टल और दूसरी मुर्गा छाप पटाका।

10 पैसे की बारूद वाली लड़ी टिकिया 5 पैसे की आती थी मगर दाम हर चीज के पूछा करते थे और दशमी का इंतजार करते थे क्योंकि उस वक्त कुछ सस्ती मिल जाती थी चीजें।

सबसे ज्यादा मजा उस कांच के बगुले को देखने मे आता था जो बारी-बारी से पानी पिया करता था। कुल 5 से दस रुपए रोज मिला करते थे थोड़ा मक्खनबाजी कर लिए तो बड़े भाई-बहन 2 से 5 रुपए दे दिया करते थे। जिनका हिसाब गोलगप्पे, मटर-छोले और समोसे में लग जाता था।

पिस्टल वाली टिकिया अपने रोड में घुसते ही कुछ फिल्मी अंदाज में चलाया करते थे और गैंग बना कर हाफ पैंट पहने हुए विरोधी गुट के पैरों पर।

सभी मंडप के पास खिचड़ी का भोग लगता था और लाइन में बिना मारा-मारी करके लेते थे पहली बार मे तो टेस्ट नहीं आता था गर्मा-गर्म खाने की जल्दी रहती थी मगर दूसरे तीसरे बार मे भरपुर आनंद आता था।

रोज का एक ही रूटीन होता था सुबह पुष्पांजलि के बाद दुकान के सामने बल्ली पर ठुड्ड़ी टिका कर खिलौने देखना और 50 पैसे की टिकिया खरीद कर पिस्टल में लोड करके रखना। शाम 3 बजे से हर रोज एक सेट रुट पर घूमने निकलना। सप्तमी, अष्टमी और नवमी पूरे मस्ती का वक्त होता था और दसमी में विसर्जन का अद्भुत डांस......फिल्मी गानों पर सब के सब ट्रक के आगे नाच रहे होते थे और हम बच्चे बुझे मन से दीपावली के सपने संजो रहे होते थे।

वो पतरातू के दिन बस अब हमारे दिल में बसते हैं।

सुबह चार बजे उठकर... स्कूल यूनिफॉर्म को आयरन करना और स्कूल में झंडोतोलन के बाद वो पांच टॉफी का मिलना, उसमें एक खाना बाकी अपने हाफ-पैंट के छोटे से पॉकेट में रख लेना।.....

वो खूबसूरत पतरातू घाटी का सफर...

घाटियों के बीच से भागती गाड़ी कब रांची एयरपोर्ट से पतरातू पहुंच गई पता ही नहीं चला। मुश्किल से एक घंटे का वक्त लगा यह सफर तय करने में। कभी ये रास्ता तय करना, पहाड़ चढ़ने जैसा हुआ करता था। घुमावदार सड़कों पर रेंगती बसें ढाई-तीन घंटे से पहले पतरातू नहीं पहुंचाती थीं।

वैसे, तब के उस सफर में गजब का रोमांच था। घाटियों की जोखिम भरी पर प्राकृतिक सौन्दर्य से भरपूर यात्रा को कुछ सालों पहले चौड़ी की गईं सड़कों ने आसान बना दिया। चढ़ावदार घाटियां और उसके तीखे मोड़ कम हो गए। घाटी पहले से अच्छी स्थिति में है - अब घाटियों के अंतिम छोर पर बसे पतरातू या यूं कहें कि पतरातू थर्मल की बारी है।
